Other than the great voice acting and delightful jokes, another thing that I think makes YTAS so awesome is all the different media references it makes. I'm not sure wether Little Kuriboh thinks of them on the spot as he makes each episode or if he plans it all out ahead of time, but either way, it's genius. So here is what I'm proposing. I'm going to make a list of the references I can spot on each episode. There are alot of them that I can't recognize though, so if you know of any that I did not list, please feel free to share it ^_^

Episode 1: Pilot

There is that clip at the end, and it sounds so familiar, but I can't quite figure out where it's from T_T

Episode 2: Rocky VII

- Barney The Dinosaur (Tristan's voice and the "I love you" song)
- Rocky Balboa (Grandpa mentions him to Joey in response to training, and it's also the title of the episode)
- Beavis and Butthead (Rex and Weevils voices)
- The Ring (7 Days)
- Gary Coleman in "Diff'rent Strokes" (The "Whatchu talkin' 'bout," phrase)
- Superman Returns (The ending clip with Marik and Tea)

Episode 3: My Cards Will Go On

- Loreal Shampoo Commercial (Yugi says "Cause I'm worth it")
- Celine Dione ("My Heart Will Go On" the song from Titanic plays when Joey jumps into the water. The episode is also named after the song)
- Admiral Ackbar from Starwars ( The ending clip that says "It's a trap!")
- More Beavis and Butthead (Rex and Weevil)

Episode 4: Lord of the Cards
- Lord of the Flies
- Lord of the Rings
- More Beavis and Butthead (Rex and Weevil)
- I can't figure out what the sound clip is when Yugi glares at Joey.....it sounds so familiar......
- Deus ex Machina (The official meaning of this is a plot resolver/twister that is suddenly introduced into a story. Dues Ex machina has also been used in various video games and animes as a boss or powerful being, maybe because the name sounds cool?)
- Samuel L. Jackson (The ending clip features a clip from the movie "Snakes on a Plane"

Episode 5: My Funny Skankentine

- Cheerio's (The opening commercial parodies the cereal Cheerio's)
- Metal Gear Solid (The exclamation sound/mark that pops up on Tea)
- I have no idea where "Back off bitch, he's mine" comes from
- I have no idea what the time roulette song is either =(
- Star Wars (ending clip is the Luke VS. Dark Sith dialouge)

I'll add more of the other episodes when I have time

The phrase is 'pop culture' references.
