Hiya folks!!

I\'m taking some of my time to give it a try and dub The Abridged Series into Spanish. I have found some other versions in YouTube and got the idea. I dubbed the first three episodes and hope to keep dubbing the rest.

So, fans, Spanish-speakers, what do you think?

I don't understand Spanish, but Joey definitely didn't mention Brooklyn. What accent did you give him this time?

Is it hard to have to rewrite some of the jokes to apply to Spanish?

It wouldn't sound very funny to Spanish speakers if Joey were from Brooklyn, he's Mexican in my version. A lousy one.

And of course Bakura won't be British, he'll be Spanish.

Sometimes. In Episode 3, Tea mentions Solid Snake, and not many latin-americans can remember Solid Snake just by hearing him out. I had to use a Get Smart reference for it to fit.

Some other jokes are just universal. The Titanic and Lord of the Rings puns for example.

When translating, literal translations usually sound horrible, its about context equivalency. I can't have the exact same lines, otherwise it would sound so horribly forced and artificial.

Its very hard to find and word jokes that the whole Latinsphere can understand, As a Colombian, I have to use words any Spanish speaker can understand. Joey and Bakura will have all the regionalism proper of the nationalities I gave them.

I hope it sounded funny to you. Any chance you can get more users' attention on this topic?

Thanks!

I know. He contacted me. But he doesn't seem to have anything started, or does he?
