I'm not sure whether you call a game overrated if you don't like it, yet it has a very strong fancase (FFVII, Halo, etc). Or if it's merely in the marketing hype (Kane & Lynch, Daikatana etc).
Personally I'll go for FFVIII, highly rated at the time, caused a massive frenzy, yet generally disappointing, and I consider myself an FF fan. |

I wouldn't say grand theft auto's overated, hyped certainly but still a good series of games.
However don't see the appeal of beating up hookers unlike roughly 90% of my classmates (excluding girls)
oh and motorstorm, I'm sick of PS3 fan boys raving on about it. |

resident evil (yes 4 was good and im sure 5 will be but 5 is beeing so over hyped atm its unture, i went on gametrailers E3 awards and RE5 won nearly every nomination it got: best game, best 360 game, best ps3 game, best blah blah blah blah and since its not even exclusive why was it best 360 and PS3 game??)

It did have better story. But KH2's game refinements made all the diffrence. |
