Does anyone like the band In Flames? I mean their old stuff though. Everything they made from Reroute to Remain on is pretty much garbage compared to their older stuff.

But yeah, In Flames is pretty much one of my favorite bands. What say you?

Hell yeah, about time a real band got some credit around here!
Swedes sure know how to do great melodic death metal!

Personally i still like everything up to Come Clarity, even though people say come clarity sucks, i still think it's okay. But the new album "A sense of purpose" sucks hairy donkey balls...
I still think that there are many other swedish melodic death metal bands that beat in flames, for example: Dark Tranquility, Soilwork and Scar Symmetry.

Yeah, I must say early in Flames is pretty awesome and far exceeds the new stuff, I can't stand lunar strain though, the production is fucking horrible. Reroute to Remain has Trigger which is a pretty decent song, aside form that it was a pretty mediocre album. Come Clarity had it's moments as well, It's nothign like their old stuff and it's more metalcore in places than melodeath but it does have some quality on it. I gave that new album a listen and my god what have they done, it sounds like they put no effort whatsoever into it.

The Jester Race is undoubtedly the best album followed by Clayman and Colony. Sweden do have a great deal of quality acts, The Knife and Opeth will always sit at the top of the list but there are a great deal more as well.

I barely listen to In flames because all my in flames songs are out of order and are completely mixed up so i always hate searching for the song i want to listen to, and i'm too lazy to buy download all their albums again...

Ehh... I don't think Dark Tranquility or Soilwork beat In Flames. Maybe their latest stuff, but stuff like Jester Race, I don't think can be touched. December Flower and Artifacts of the Black Rain are awesome.

Also, I think after Jester Race has to come Colony, then Clayman. Only because Colony has two of my all-time favorite tracks by them: Pallar Anders Visa and Behind Space 99 (which is my favorite song by them and one of my favorite songs in general). But Clayman has an impressive line-up of great songs, like the title track, Only For the Weak, and Satellites and Astronauts.

But swedish melodeath is a force to be reckoned with. If you don't have it already, try giving "Slaughter of the Soul" by At The Gates a listen.

Well the new Soilwork album got pretty bad reviews, but i still liked it! But the new Dark Tranquillity album 'Fiction' is a masterpiece. I've listened through that album from start to finish 100 times! After all, the person who sung the in flames EP's is the current vocalist in Dark Tranquillity, and the current In Flames vocalist did songs for Dark Tranquillity in the early days. Quite funny, isn't it.

Fuck yeah! At the gates rule the world!
