Although, I couldn't really imagine Edward that well ever, really. |

| #212 Posted 3 months ago, in reply to post #211 by niknnik | Reply | | that's good that some other people see him as Edward then. As long as we all can enjoy the movie. But one question nikn, did you ever read or watch harry poter? Since the actor of Edward I believe was the main character from harry poter :p? |

| #219 Posted 3 months ago | Reply | The dude who plays Edward in the movie
1) played Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter, as far as I know (I don't like the HP movies, and boycotted them after the third one)
2) isn't good-looking enough for Edward, in my opinion. I haven't seen him act, so maybe he's better in movies than in pictures, but I've yet to see a good photo of him.
I also forget his name. |

| #220 Posted 3 months ago, in reply to post #219 by Emmy | Reply | I KNEW it was Cedric Diggory! But when I looked at the trailer, he looks too different!
I think you're a bit right about Edward, though. He looks too evil... Too (and this is going to sound ironic) vampirish |

I enjoy the series but I know it has flaws. This is one of them. |

LOOKS EFFECT EVERYTHING. |

But I agree. This is paticularly true in visual media. Such as movies about supposedly good-looking vampires. Although he's not actively ugly. He's fine, just not gorgeous. |

I think he was better-looking as Cedric.
But this could be because the pictures make him look too evil...
I've also seen the trailer and he tries too hard to fake an American accent; it sounds so forced from what I've heard so far.
I'm not expecting a whole lot from this movie, as it could either really suck or be pretty good. |

| #229 Posted 3 months ago, in reply to post #228 by MrsSallyBakura | Reply | | It's probably not going to be like anyone imagined it. I have a good perspective of Twilight, but I think this film is going to change that. |
| #230 Posted 3 months ago, in reply to post #229 by niknnik | Reply | | It could be worse. I read in the Entertainment Weekly aritcle that somebody had the bright idea to make Bella a pop-star... |
| #232 Posted 3 months ago, in reply to post #231 by niknnik | Reply | Well, they weren't going to call it Twilight, either... but Bella was going to be a pop-star and they changed some other things, I think...
Want me to run upstairs and get the article to double-check that? |
| #233 Posted 3 months ago | Reply | They did what now?!
From what I heard, they made it so Bella doesn't leave her mom as a mature decision, her mom kicks her out, and that at the end, instead of Edward saving Bella and Jazz and Emmett taking James down, theres a melodramatic Edward vs James fight scene.
But a pop-star Bella would be much worse!!
(Also, it seems Alice's hair is not very short and red instead of black. W.... T.... F....?!?! How hard is a haircut and a bottle of dye to come by?! Hell, I'm doing that for my debs ball!) |

| #234 Posted 3 months ago, in reply to post #233 by Emmy | Reply | | I heard about the Edward vs James fight scene. You can kinda get that from the trailers. Buy Bella getting kicked out would be weird. |
| #235 Posted 3 months ago | Reply | | Bella getting kicked out is weird... I mean maybe it could work with what happens in the book but now her character just seems totally different. :/ |
| #236 Posted 3 months ago | Reply | | Yeah, her decision to move in with her dad really set her up as a mature young woman who did her best to please everyone and who was determined to make life in Forks work out just fine. I always thought it was very interesting, it really set up her character nicely. |

| #237 Posted 3 months ago | Reply | Okay, everyone, here's some stuff on the movie...
1. I re-read the article, and they were actually going to make her a track star, not a pop-star. My bad. (A track star is much worse, in my opinion, since Bella is so incredibly clumsy.) And there were going to be night-vision goggles involved. (Stupid idea.)
2. Yeah, Bella gets kicked out. Which I don't really like, either, since it isn't what happened in the book and it's not consistent with Bella's character... But I think that it might be because it would be too hard/too confusing/too long to make it a mature decision in the movie. And Bella could still be determined to make life in Forks just fine... though I wonder how the "I dumped him! I hate this town and I hate the rain and I'm going home to Phoenix right now!" part would be instead... Since she can't really just decide to go home whenever she feels like if she got kicked out...
3. I know it's not what happened in the book, but I like the idea of a Edward-James showdown. One, James makes a comment about Edward being faster in the movie trailer, which is true. Edward is faster than the rest of the coven. And two, that's like him. He knows he's faster than the rest of his family, and Bella's in danger. He wouldn't wait for the others unless he had to.
4. The Half-Blood Prince has been moved to next summer, so there's an open spot in late November. Twilight now opens November 21st! Hooray! |
| #238 Posted 3 months ago | Reply | 1. That makes no sense! Argh! That's another thing that sets her up, she says she'd find it easier to settle in if she was blonde and/or sporty.
2. It wouldn't take that long to set up, less than five minutes of conversation with her mother, or two minutes of narrative voiceover would have taken care of that.
3. He did arrive first, but Bella was dying. Jasper and Emmett arrived seconds later, which is all it would have been. They couldn't run through Phoenix, they had to drive, so the distance was from the car right outside the building to the door of the room.
I wonder when it's out over here... I could probably find out, but I'm not bothered! |

Yay for Twilight, but I like HP better as a book series. Though because of the move to July I'm thinking about boycotting it anyways. Besides we all know that the HP movies in the end actually kinda suck and this way we get to see how Twilight works as a movie first. |

| #240 Posted 3 months ago | Reply | | I already boycott HP movies. I love the books too much, every slight deviation makes me wince, and the large deviations make me run from theatres screaming. |
