It has a more horror and magic based kind of style and they were great reads. And Necropolis, which will be released in October, promises to be even more horror based than any of his previous works.
What did you guys think of this series?

I love the alex rider series, but seriously, this made me want to cry. It doesn't even qualify as a horror series. I mean, sure, I collect the books and read them as soon as I get them, and it is good sometimes, but it seems, so predictabe at times, and it's certainly a "put-downable" book [ Admittedly, however, the second book did get me interested in the Nazca Lines ].
Sorry for hating your favourite book, sajeev, but I exect better from the author of a bestseller series. I hope you're right about Necropolis is scarier than the others (Necropolis means "death city" or something o.O)... Although Horowitz wouldn't have to try hard...
[ BTW, don't bother pointing out that it's for teenagers and kids, so it can't be too horrific. But Darren Shan's books are classed under the same category, and they're a lot more scary. ] |

Other than that I really liked them. |

And I never liked that Richard fella XD |

| #5 Posted 6 months ago | Reply | | The only part of the series that I found real putdownable would be the whole 10000 years ago section in Nightrise. That took like four chapters and most of it was quite boring. |

| #30 Posted 2 months ago | Reply | Charlie bone? i read the first 5 but after a while I got fed up of the childish writing style and the fact that she could knock out two books almost in a year. But if we go back to the power of five series, i agree that they aren't that scary, except the first one, which I thought was damn scary. After that I was like any other fantasy book, yet I'll still buy necropolis, I want to see how this ends. if there was a film, i think they'll ruin it like they did Stormbreaker. Really, it should be at least rated 15, considering the gory deaths in the raven's gate, yet the producer won't allow it.
I might read Horowitz's adult version of these books. I'm guessing you all know that these power of five books are a rewrite for teenagers of a series of books he wrote years ago, but only finished up to the fourth one? |
