Nope, no sign of a new Eden episode. It's almost as if making those videos takes time and effort! Who'da thunkit?
My videos, however, require nothing but 100% laziness and complacency. And that's why you've got yourself a new one! Just head on over to our Episodes section to check out Episode 29, guaranteed to be despised by the likes of HeavyDDR and... well... mostly just him. But he counts for at least ten people in my book. At this rate, it won't be long before the Abridged Store will be selling HeavyDDR plushies. Squeeze their tummies and they tell you how much they loathe you.
But yeah, it's a new episode. And you're probably too busy watching it to read this part of the news post. So I'm just going to stop writi
Kroze's Super special awesome crazy insanely named edit:
Forgot to mention this earler but a fan asked we bring this to our attention seeing as how it has to do with her job.
She works at Beckett's Unofficial Yu-Gi-Oh Magazine and they haven't been doing so hot for the past few issues and if sales don't pick up, it could go under.
I would like to ask all the fans of our series, if they get the chance please check out the Magazine, and if you like what you see, please pick up a copy to help with their sales.
So you cried, you begged, you got down on your knees, walked through broken glass, and you even tried to blackmail me with photoshopped pictures of my head on a picture of Miley Cyrus' body. But none of it worked! Until now.
Finally, you've got what you wanted. A brand new episode of Yu-Gi-Oh: The Abridged Series. Feel free to peruse our episodes section to discover it for yourself, or simply watch it at the top of the page. But if you do it like that you're missing out. I think. I don't know, I don't even watch the episodes after I make 'em. I allow them to fade into obscurity until people quote the entire thing back at me, and then I suffer through nightmarish flashbacks to the time when this whole thing was but an iota of a concept in the back of my mind.
Anyway, enjoy the goofy video.
And start nagging Kroze for new episodes of Eden. Feel free to use the Hannah Montana method. He's very susceptible to that sort of thing.
To everyone out there asking for WMV downloads, we are currently working on getting our Season One torrent tracker back up online. Also, for everyone asking about individual episode downloads, the popularity of this series is actually the reason we can't have one up and running. The amount of bandwidth required for such a server to be up and running with the amount of downloads that would be hitting it with all the fans that would be downloading the episodes would be ENORMOUS. For the time being, QuickTime downloads are the only ones being offered for the time being. We wish there was some way to get you the WMV downloads in a more efficient manner but until we find a way to do so, there's nothing we can do. -Dix
You may recall a certain Godzilla fanatic attempting to start a caption contest that involved an image from some extraneous movie featuring sweaty Japanese men giant rubber costumes. This caption contest never happened. Erase it from your memory.
This is your real caption contest image for this week:
Yes, it's a naked pharaoh. Bonus points for managing to insult Godzilla movies and imply that King Kong could easily whup Godzilla's leathery butt any day of the week.
This news post is for those of you who are insane enough to not be playing Grand Theft Auto IV till their retinas bleed. And to those people I have nothing but the purest animosity. Animosity, I tell you. Just ask Lanipator. He knows. And to the ones who ARE playing it - if you're not listening to The Journey, I have plenty of animosity for you guys too. Unadulterated. Like an animal.
You may have noticed I uploaded a few small videos and one rather large video, which can be viewed on our episodes section. The first two are a couple of silly puppet things I threw together, posing as that rich and talented voice actor known only as Dan Green. The second one is the original Abridged Movie, which at least a half dozen of you are still interested in watching for the umpteenth time.
Also, I'd like to announce that Kroze can't steal cars and kill hookers for s**t.
Hey guys!
Its your friendly neighborhood Spiderman Kroze here...
As you may have noticed, the site was down for a few days due to a big attack on our entire server network, corrupting data and destroying things... as you see, we managed to get the site back up!
BUT (yes, there is always a but... just look at BadwolfTyler! :P) there was some minor problems with restoring everything to its previous state.
For one as you may have noticed, the site has completely traveled back in time to last November. Sadly this is the most recent, non-corrupted version of the database we had backed up so everything that was done after November is completely gone for better or for worse.
Posts, Threads, and even Users...
If you made your account here on the site after November, it most likely doesn't exist right now so you will have to reregister for the site. There is no way around that.
On the plus side, if you reregister as the same user name as you once had, you will have your avatar back as if nothing has happened!
If you find any errors on the site, feel free to post them in the "Help" subforum so that we may fix them as fast as we possibly can.
Another bit of good news, expect to see a new episode from LK very very soon as he has been working pretty damn hard on it for the masses to consume so look for that soon!
Teh Kroze now returns you to your regularly scheduled site!
Hey, in case you haven't already seen it, the video of our Nekocon Abridged Showing introduction is now up for your viewing pleasure. I have also utilised my crafty HTML skills to embed it in this news post. Damn, I'm a genius. Also we now have news alerts in your watchlist, as you may have already seen, so there's that for this week's site update.
And for those wondering, the Disc Error was all my fault due to me burning a Data DVD rather than a VIdeo DVD... yeah... I fail at burning DVD's.
Oh and Nekocon was a convention in Virginia.
-Dix
We've done it! Just now user #10,000 has joined our site. We would like to thank them (and all of you 9,999 before) that have helped us reach this amazing milestone.
Now, onward, to world domination!
New info: Contrary to what seems to be a common idea now amongst some Wikipedia users, we did NOT reach 10,000 users by using a user creating script. We were attacked in an attempt to crash our servers with said user creating script.
Our userbase was at roughly 10,045 when the script created approx. 5,000 additional accounts. We had to shut the site down for about an hour while Kroze reset the userlist to right before the attack. Again, we had reached the 10k mark hours before the user script attacked our registration system.
New User Registration is now Live again. We are constantly working to improve your user experience at www.yugiohabridged.com and if features and such go down we apoligize.
We recently added PM replying for the whole userbase. This should help to make things easier while PMing people! More features to come later!
Hey all you loyal and Kroze worshiping Abridged Series fans!
This past weekend Dix and I went down to Hampton, Virginia to Nekocon and it was a great time had by all.
We had a full season 1 showing of Abridged Series and the room was PACKED which was amazing seeing as how we were fighting against the Con Rave for people, and yet we ended up filling all the seats so some people had to stand.
During the showing, all the fans were crazy! When "Screw the rules, I have money!" or "In America!" was said, the ENTIRE audience would it along with the video. There was just so much energy from the fans in there.
Also the showing managed to make a few new fans of the series, and for those of you looking at this news post right now, I welcome you to the site and hope you stick around!
Something that really surprised me was the age gap the series spans... we had a few people in their 40s in there supporting the series. I never figured we reached that age group.
We also had a great response at our table in Artists Alley and I would like to thank all of you reading this right now who dropped by and bought a shirt and or said hello. You guys are what keep this series and site running and we love you all for that.
During the long weekend at our booth we even managed to pick up some groupies who did favors for us and just kept us company... BIG thanks to Matt for making the "Real men play children's card games" pins and introducing both Dix and I at the Abridged Screening, you are the MAN dawg! Also big props to a guy I dubbed "Appa-man" who was dressed up as Sokka from Avatar: The Last Airbender. He carried around stuffed Appas of various sizes and amused us with his company!
You two and others like you are the reasons we went to this convention so thanks for making us feel like we were welcome (And for the Skittles :P).
Other thanks go out to Ren, Dizz and the rest of the Nekocon staff for being so flexible and tolerant, Dave Lister from Paradox Lost who let us hang and invited us to help him out on his panel he was asked to do at last second and the restof his crew, The guys over at Yosh! Comics and Adam Golden for being such awesome table neighbors, Michelle Knotz for putting up with my constant pestering over the entire weekend to meet with her and go over Death By Pixel stuff, and Dave from Snafu Comics for overnighting us the shirts so we would have them on time for the convention!
I urge you all to check them out seeing as how they helped us all out a hell of a lot and deserve your attention if only for 5 minutes or so!
All in all, It was a tiring, awesome weekend that Dix and I look forward to going back to again next year!
Now since LittleKuriboh has returned from his hibernation of hiding from all the insane fans demanding more Abridged Series episodes moving into a new home with Safty, I will let him take care of this weeks Caption Contest in a news post coming soon (Hopefully)...
And until next time everyone, DOOOOONNNNNN'T STOP BEEEEEELLLLLLIIIIVVVIIINNN!!!
P.S. Expect videos of our Abridged Series Con adventures soon
In case you don't read LittleKuriboh's LiveJournal (hehe, LKLJ) here's the latest post:
Salutations, Abridgedphiles. It's me, LittleKuriboh, back from my somewhat lengthy absence. Safty and I finally have internets at our disposal, so we should now be able to post on a more frequent basis.
Good news is, our new home is a beauty. We live in a nice enough area, right opposite a bus line into town. There are some minor problems (garden's a mess, heating is a little wonky, etc) but they're nothing that can't be fixed in time once we're fully settled in. I've managed to get myself a new job here, and I've also joined a theatre group with Safty. The best part is that we've also both been cast in the local pantomime "Sleeping Beauty" - myself as the narrator, and Safty as the titular narcoleptic princess. So if you feel like coming to see my stage debut, come on down to Scunthorpe and nab yourself some tickets. Just don't yell Abridged quotes during the performance. It'll throw me off, and likely confuse all the child actors I have to work with.
So yeah, that's the situation for now. I'm going to get to work on making new videos ASAP - I'm literally poised at the PC with some YGO DVDs ready for burning, so don't think for a moment I'm not serious. I am. Deadly serious.
But then again, it's not long until they release Mass Effect... So who knows. I might get a little distracted. *gulp*
Nice to see you all again. :)
So, to paraphrase LK is back in town. How do I celebrate this occasion? Why, you ask, with the following song. Why don't we all enjoy the song together.
... with tons of rants. (Note: apologies to those who don't understand my rants...)
Anyway, I, Dix, was given the chance by Kroze to get up on my little soapbox and make a news post (and to those of you who don't like it... DEAL WITH IT and blame him!). Sadly, I won't have this powah for much longer. Oh and btw, LK should be back real soon... now... since I have this post, I'm gonna clear some stuff off my chest... please fasten all seat belts and put all trays in their upright and locked positions... its gonna be a bumpy ride!
Anyway, as you may have gathered from the title, I've been wasting my time with Halo 3. I was gonna make a post regarding the awesomeness that is Portal, but that annoying little brit, Ben beat me to it. Anyway, Halo 3 has been dominating my 360's playtime. I've been playing the game for almost a month now due to Kroze getting it early and me bumming off of him. So, we beat the campaign in a marathon (heh) session before the game even came out in like 6 hours. Halo 3 Gripe #1: Only 6 hours? Please son... I'd have loved to have a much longer campaign mode. Oh well.
But as any self respecting gamer should know, Halo has been all about multiplayer game action. I don't think I've ever had as much fun playing multiplayer than I have playing Halo... however... Halo 3 Gripe #2: The multiplayer Matchmaker sucks arse! How many games of Shotty snipers or Big Team Battle VIP can you play? Oh well... (again). Oh and the damned matchmaker always seems to match me up with crappy teammates. I've played about 200+ matchmaker games and i've won less than half of em. At this rate, it will take me forever to reach anything past lieutenant or captain in the officer rankings. Meanwhile, some pathetic loser has reached the rank of General and played close to 2000 (thats right... THOUSAND) multiplayer matches. God person, get a frickin life already.
Oh and interesting tidbit, according to this article, in the first week of its release, people spent a combined 4,500 YEARS worth of time playing Halo 3. Imagine what good could have been accomplished in the world with that time spent... Oh and Halo 3 is now the new scapegoat for the film industry, which is currently suffering from one of its worst October box offices in years. No, it has nothing to do with the absolutely shitty movies currently out, its ALL Halo 3's fault. Excuse me while I go roll my eyes.
But enough about my griping... I'm sure all you little minions wanna know about who won the caption contest? Amirite?
WELL TOUGH!
First, some shameless plugging.
As Ben mentioned in his last news post, YGO:TAS will have a presence (ie a booth... or boof for you crazy spellers out there) at Nekocon on November 2-4. Kroze tells me that we WILL have the new shirts available at the con, so for all of you in, near, or even far from Hampton, Virginia... GET YO ARSE TO IT! Plus, you can take pics with Kroze and I as the two of us will be manning the booth (note: YGO:TAS is not responsible for any cameras breaking due to Kroze's ugly mug).
And speaking of anime conventions, I hope to GOD that its better than the time Kroze and I had when we went to Otakon in 2006. Oh and I'm not a huge anime fan... so me going to an anime convention would be like most of you going to like the Super Bowl... (ie. you'd be a fish out of water). Now, I'm sure you all know about how cosplayers run rampant at these things... well, I still have nightmares from somebody that made a pretty accurate E. Honda (the fat dude from Street Fighter) cosplay. Oh and theres always 30 million Kindom Hearts/Final Fantasy cosplayers at these damned things... I swear, if I see another Sora or Kairi, I'm gonna freak. Oh and what the hell is up with these Yaoi paddles and crap? Oh and if ANYONE tries to glomp me, they are gonna get punched in the baby maker. Anime people scare me. And yet... I am a mod at a site that exists because of an anime show... Ironic? I think so. /rants
So... wanna know who won the last caption contest? Well, we all know it was up to Kroze to judge it but he was a little wuss and didn't feel like doing it so he pawned it off on me to judge. Thats right... all you people who tried bribing Kroze... yeah... sorry but it didn't work. He'll be doing it (or LK will... since he'll probably be back by then) for next week's caption contest so, sadly, no sucking up to me. Anyway, zee winnah of zis weeks contest eez: Ddevil!
Surprisingly enough, this week's picture isn't as totally off topic as you think...
Dan Green who is the voice of Yugi in the 4Kids dub also provides a voice for a character in Viva Pinata, which a sound from that game was stolen by Halo 3 for the special easter egg skull "Grunt Birthday Party" and since a certain Super Special Awesome Site Admin (Kroze) had a birthday this past Wednesday, makes the picture perfect to make captions for!
Until next time, keep on rockin' those suburbs people!
And because we've had so many 'complaints' about this news post, I have made a video response to all of them:
-----EDIT-----
Server Maintenance Anouncement: From Magick
During the next few weeks we will be upgrading the servers that host the Website and the IRC. There will be small downtimes during NON-PEAK times of the day.
I will make announcements on the forums prior to any downtime, and i promise to make them as short as possible. The new server is sexah, ya'll will love it :-p
